Governments and health organizations, in order to avoid the spread of novel coronavirus, advise their citizens to restrict their movement and practice isolation as much as possible. As a result, educational institutions, entertainment centers and even places of worship have closed to compel people to stay at home and to avoid public gatherings.

And now the boundaries are expanding in the workforce even to departments and other organisations.

Coronavirus is a type of infectious disease transmitted by air. Unfortunately, the epidemic is spreading rapidly, infecting more than 353,000 people worldwide with deaths of more than 15, 427-so far. According to health officials, the safest way to prevent COVID-19 infection is to avoid physical contact with others, follow hygiene protocols and keep yourself isolated to prevent exposure.

Many offices across the globe are now following a policy of 'work from home' to escape any kind of publicity. And this means the demand for virtual networking systems such as Trello, Slack and Teams has gone up significantly.

Microsoft said its workplace chat app called Team has seen a 100% rise from 20 million active daily users in November to over 44 million active daily users now. Interestingly, the average user of the app only grew by 12 million in the past week alone.

Microsoft launched its Team App as a chat-based workplace on Office 364 in 2017. The app traversed 20 million active users a day in November, surpassing Slack-the pioneer in workplace networking apps.
