Prejudice against Asian Americans in the US grew dramatically following the advent of COVID-19. Indeed, a recent survey indicates that China's American view is diminishing ever more.

The study carried out by Pew Research Center found that 66 per cent of American adults have a negative view of China. The numbers have risen by 30 points since 2010, and have rising significantly since 2017.

On the contrary, China's attractive options make up just 26 per cent of adults in the US.

The Republicans and Democrats have generally divergent opinions. However, in this case, most members of both parties consider China as unwanted, with Republicans 72% and Democrats 62%.
Overall, 71 per cent of Americans over the age of 50 have an unfavorable impression of China, while 67 per cent of Americans between the ages of 30 and 49 are nationally dismissive.

Survey results show that an vast number of Americans view China as a threat for the US. According to the survey, about 9 out of 10 Americans perceive China's Kingdom as a threat to their country, while 62 per cent perceive Chinese as a threat to MAJOR.

Americans across China are most worried about their environmental effects, although there are still some apprehensions about the cyber-attacks, trade deficits, and job losses in the region.
Over time, China is starting to feel more threatened by the Americans – for reasons unrelated to COVID-19. The virus does, however, serve as a focal point that allows many U.S. residents, along with government officials and lawmakers to express their anger more openly.

The COVID-19 or coronavirus was first discovered in Wuhan district of China in late December. Since then this has spread exponentially across the world with 202,100 deaths affecting more than 2,900,000 people. The USA is the most affected by the virus, with cases spread across all 50 nations, reaching a total of 946,921 as of this writing.
Rumors say the virus is not a natural pandemic-but a pandemic in China that has evolved in the laboratory. Because of China's strained relationship with America, some observers also say the Chinese authorities purposely released the virus in order to annoy the US.

These may be just myths but the overwhelming spread of COVID-19 has undoubtedly created the lower perception of China in front of the whole world. What do you think?
