A landmark analysis of Experian email marketing across all sectors showed that the recipients were remarkably successful late at night. Relevant open rates ranged from 8 pm to 11:59 pm to 21.7%, and from 12 am to 4 am to 17.6%. Moreover, this late-night group was more likely to click through with open levels of 4.2 per cent and 3.2 per cent respectively. Such night owls have also had the highest level of click-through at all times of the day. Earnings per email from 8 pm to 11:59 pm were also the highest in the group

A 2016 Deloitte Mobile App Survey found that within five minutes of waking-up, 40 per cent of consumers search their phones. Approximately 30 per cent of customers check their devices five minutes before going to sleep after the day is over. And in the middle of the night about 50 per cent check their machines. For consumers constantly active on their mobile devices, testing sends outside the typical morning hours is critical , particularly outside the usual nine to five working hours spent on an office desktop.
