It seems like each day in the ever-changing world of COVID-19 we get new advice. We can put masks on? Would you have to keep these for the healthcare workers? Build ours yourself? Check out our infographic to learn more about what you need to stay safe and secure.

Face masks are not the ideal cure for preventing COVID-19 from spreading but are still an effective method of reducing rates of infection. Laboratory tests have shown wearing a face mask to prevent the passage of infectious particles, demonstrating that a mask will protect others against an infected person. According to one study, wearing a mask and washing your hands regularly can lead to a 50 per cent drop-off in rates of flu infection. Only a modest reduction in risk can still make a significant difference with COVID-19 being estimated to be nearly 3 times as contagious as flu.

Since COVID-19 is most commonly spread through asymptomatic carriers, such protection may be required. An approximate 86 per cent of COVID-19 cases in China went unnoticed, and transmissions caused more than 75 per cent of unnoticed cases.
