Confronted with adversity, the leaders can struggle to effectively manage their teams.

Before the COVID-19 outbreak, more than half of all professionals worldwide worked at least 2.5 days a week remotely. That has changed dramatically since then, with 88 per cent of firms now requiring their employees to operate from home and impose social distance.

Leaders must adapt to a more flexible workplace and create a culture of accountability, so that their organization can weather the COVID-19 storm successfully.

The benefits of flexible labor policies are coming into sharper focus as the workforce pivots to remote work arrangements.
Research demonstrates that these initiatives, in addition to hiring top talent, would minimize payroll expenses, reduce travel times and increase employee satisfaction. The shift to remote employment could also boost the US economy by $4.5 trillion annually by 2030.

Yet achieving these benefits requires accountability within an organization from everyone, which can become difficult to manage, especially in a virtual world.
