COVID-19 brought the world to a halt — but after months of uncertainty things seem to be turning slowly for the better.
The chart today measures to what extent 41 major economies reopen by plotting two metrics for each country: the rate of mobility and the rate of recovery COVID-19:
1-Indice for versatility
That's true of the increase in behavior around the office, the restraint of behavior around the home, measured as a percentage deviation from the mean.
2-COVID-19 Recoverable Levels
For a country the number of confirmed cases depends on the proportion of the total cases.
The data for the first measure comes from the COVID-19 Community Mobility Reports from Google, which rely on the aggregated, anonymous location history of the individuals. Note that China does not appear in the graphic, because the government bans Google services.
