Tallest Building in the World

The tallest skyscraper in the world is in the United Arab Emirates. Standing at 828 meters (2,717 feet), the 163 floors of Burj Khalifa are home to the Armani Hotel, At.mosphere restaurant and hundreds of floors of luxury and corporate suites. The Burj Khalifa is more than twice as high as 90 of the 100 buildings on this list, and is 24 per cent (196 meters) taller than the Shanghai Towers, China's tallest tower.

Tallest Building in the U.S.

The United States is ranked # 5 on the list of One World Trade Centers. One World Trade Center, standing at 541.3 meters (1,776 feet) when it was completed in 2014, surpassed Willis Tower in Chicago as the tallest building in the US. This is also the tallest building in the western hemisphere. While most of the floors of One World Trade Center are for office use, there are several restaurants located on its upper floors.

Tallest Building in Europe

Lakhta Tower is the tallest skyscraper in Europe, in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Standing at 426 meters (1,516 feet), this skyscraper is the first super-tall structure in Saint Petersburg, and is now the northernmost of the tallest buildings in the world. For public offices and houses, this was designed and completed in 2019. Lakhta Center currently consists of several buildings, with a smaller multifunctional building containing a planetarium.

Tallest Building in Australia

The Q1 skyscraper, also known as Queensland Number One, is the tallest skyscraper on Australia. Like the tallest towers in other continents, Q1 is an entirely residential one. Standing at 322.5 meters (1.058 feet) on the Gold Coast, Q1 houses 78 floors with seven high-speed elevators, multiple pools and a theatre, ballroom and spa. After its completion in 2005 it became the tallest residential tower in the world, but in 2011 this title was taken from another building.

Tallest Building in Africa

Tallest building in Africa is The Leonardo. Located in Sandton, South Africa, this 227-meter (745-foot) building was designed by a predominantly women's team and includes retail space, office space, and 200 apartments. The penthouse at The Leonardo is considered to be the most luxurious sectional property ever sold in South Africa. The adjacent Carlton Center was Africa's tallest building until completion of The Leonardo in 2019.
