Who Is Driving Investment in Renewable Energy? #infographic

Media reports in Europe indicate a decline in investment particularly in wind power. This is linked to the fact that investors do not completely believe in the long-term sustainability of renewable energy production in the current business climate and organization by energy expert Professor Dr. Ulf Moslener of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Germany, once a poster child of renewable energy policies, is doing particularly poorly on these wind energy projects because of complex approval procedures that often deter investors from doing so.

Global investment in renewable energies has almost doubled in the last decade. Europe has lost its reputation as a top investor in renewables overtaken by China and the United States during this period. Under a report from Bloomberg New Energy Finance, the U.N. Between 2009 and 2019, investment in China tripled almost, along with the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. The data includes R&A spending by companies and governments, investment in venture capital, private equity, and public markets, as well as money invested in renewable energy ventures, and other such assets, the latter representing the largest share of global investment.
